Small Business Saturday & Christmas Market

The village kicks off the holidays the small-town way: local shops, local makers and a walk down Judd Street.

Small Business Saturday falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and Marine marks it with holiday shopping in its downtown businesses and a seasonal market. It’s a good chance to find gifts from the many artists, potters, woodworkers and growers who live in and around the village — the city’s business list names many local artists, studios, farms and orchards.

Late November in Marine is usually cold and gray, with average highs around 41°F and the first snow often on the ground, and it gets dark by about 4:40 p.m. Dress warmly and come early in the day.

Details change from year to year; see the city’s events page for this year’s plans, and browse the local directory before you go.
